How we work
Our editorial and fact-checking standards
RootFolia exists to give plant owners advice they can trust. This page explains how our content is researched, written, reviewed and kept up to date.
Who writes our content
Every article is written by a named author with real houseplant experience and carries a byline and short bio. Guides that touch on pests, chemicals, pet safety or plant disease receive an additional accuracy review before publishing.
How we research and fact-check
We base guidance on established horticultural sources, first-hand growing experience, and, where relevant, cited references. We avoid making medical, veterinary or pesticide claims, and we clearly flag when to consult a professional. If a topic involves risk to people, pets or plants, we include a visible safety note.
Keeping content current
Our guides are evergreen and reviewed regularly. Each article shows a published date and, when meaningfully revised, a last-updated date. If you spot something that needs correcting, please contact us and we will review it.
Independence and disclosure
Our recommendations are editorially independent. Some articles contain affiliate links or display advertising; these never change our advice. See our affiliate disclosure for details, and any sponsored content is clearly labelled as such.
